my story so far..
Coming from two generations of musicians, a grandfather who was a professional, touring violinist in a trio back in Macedonia, and my father who studied music, played clarinet, double bass, violin and piano accordion, there is no wonder that music is in my blood. I grew up in a house full of music as I saw my dad playing organs at home, gig in bands on bass, do solo gigs with his electronic piano accordion and even play bass harmonica in a harmonica quartet. Despite my parents trying to allure me with many instruments it was at the age of 8 when I received my first toy saxophone and after a year of pleading I came home from school to a shiny alto sax on the kitchen table. From there I was destined into the world of music...
The music block was my second home in high school as I rehearsed, practiced and played in as many ensembles on as I could on alto sax when in year 10, the bass guitar seat opened up. Having barely played I jumped at the opportunity and by grade 12 (1995) the Stage Band had won numerous premier grade competitions and a best rhythm section award.
Continuing on to complete a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 3rd year (2000), I gained an interest for music technology and music production. This led me to Rover Street Media in music production where I produced my Christmas instrumental album ‘Silent Night' and worked with Producer and Music Director, Darran Muller, as Assistant Music Director for the nationally televised ‘The Singing Christmas Tree’. During this time I completed a Masters of Music at the Queensland University of Technology. For over 15 years I received a lot of my musical grounding playing sax, bass, keys and Hammond organ in my church band where I was involved in numerous music productions and events. In 2005, as Music Director I produced and recorded many musical productions including the Mt Gravatt Christmas Festival The Gift, EP All I Need and live worship album Your Name. |

Throughout my travels as a gigging musician, I have been privileged to play with some of Australia's and overseas' finest funk, soul & jazz musicians. In 1998, I formed a great friendship with Chicago-based Gospel group Light of Love. Since then I have performed with them on saxophone at the Manly International Jazz Festival & Australian Gospel Music Festival. I have also been fortunate to join them in the USA, including at Fantasy Recording Studios in Oakland, California, where they recorded with Grammy winning producer Carl Wheeler and also in Norway for their latest album release.
For over 10 years, I have worked as a freelance musician, playing saxophone, keys, bass for corporate events and functions with Soul Engine, Zion Music, Shaneal, Designer Music, Midnight Groove and Rush Entertainment. In more recent years, I have established my production studio and have been working as a music producer and recording engineer for local artists and bands and look forward to a long and rewarding career.
